Who we are

"MINERALSERVICE is composed of a group of people who are fond of minerals.
MINERALSERVICE was created to let people know the Alto Novarese territory (now Verbania Province), which is rich of beautiful and rare minerals, and to organize some geo-mineralogic trekkings.

Our mission is to guide the rockhounder up to the research places (often very hard to be located) then to guarantee him the satisfaction of a personal discovery.

But, if he doesn't feel like Indiana Jones, he could visit MINERALSERVICE private collection and buy specimens from the minerals catalogue.

MINERALSERVICE doesn't stop here.
The mineralogic areas are located in a very beautiful natural landscape that includes: Lake Maggiore, the Borromeo Islands , the Villa Taranto Botanical Garden, the Villa Pallavicino Zoo , and mount Mottarone.

What does it mean?

It means that while the rockhounder is guiding up to the research places, MINERALSERVICE contemporary is able to look after his family, giving all an unforgettable stay!

Besides MINERALSERVICE offers optional services such as: equipment hire, mineralogic consulence, insurances, etc...."

Sergio Varvello

I was born in Domodossola (Verbania, Italy) on 03 December 1954.
Since I was young, I have been fond of minerals, at first because of aesthetic appeal, then because I deeply studied the scientific aspects, with systematic researches of rare specimens in the region around my home town.
At present I'm collaborating with Museums and Universities in Italy, such as Milan and Pisa, giving them rare specimens for scientific analysis..
Last year I published an article on Rivista Mineralogica Italiana (1/98).
My research territory is Baveno and Ossola Valley (Verbania, Italy).
In summer I often visit Giglio Island (Grosseto, Italy) where you can find good tourmaline, apatite, sulphides, quarz and malachite.
In the so called "every day life" I work as Agent of an Insurance Company and I also know turistic aspects very well because of my parents, hotel owners.
So, putting togheter my experiences, I created MINERALSERVICE, an organisation able to offer you the best mixture of services for an... unforgettable adventure!
